Electric mobility challenges for the Facility Manager

On January 26th, ACFM organised the event “Electric mobility challenges for the Facility Management” in the DFACTORY building.

Due to the incorporation of the electric car in built spaces, not only for the necessity to face the needs of climate change, but also because of legal ones, Facility Managers are facing new challenges when incorporating this technology. In this event, the new legal obligations in the incorporation of the electric car were discussed, as well as the technical and bureaucratic challenges. In the current moment, it is very important for FMs to be clear about the real scenario they will have to face, and in this event, we have tried to give the keys to understand what to do and how to do it.

First, there was a guided tour of the building, including the facilities and also there was a chance to see the technological proposals from startups in the fields of robotics and 3D printing, as well as other technological projects like cars created with 3D printers.

Then it was time for the presentations with the speakers:

  • Alejandro Valdovinos (Public Affairs Unit Director, CIRCUTOR Group)
  • Ramón Calderón (Manager of Institutional Relations and e-Mobility, SEAT)
  • Joan Pujols (Maintenance and Services Delegate, Northeast Directorate, ELECNOR GROUP)

Ramón Calderón pointed out the delay in the installation of electric vehicle chargers both in Spain and Catalonia, mainly due to bureaucratic reasons.

Joan Pujols stressed that ELECNOR faces these projects with aim of not only covering present needs, but also being prepared for future ones.

Alejandro Valdovinos noted that electric vehicle chargers are an additional asset of the property that can attract and build customer loyalty. Therefore, they are a way to revalue a property.

This was followed by a question-and-answer session for the audience, which ended with a networking space where there was an opportunity to go deeper into the topics discussed.

We would like to thank the speakers for their time and for sharing their views on such a current topic. We would also like to thank DFACTORY and its team for their excellent attention and support to our event.
